drumroll, please...
the announcement has finally been made.
the winner of the best yoga studio in LA, according to the myfoxla poll, is:
rising lotus yoga in sherman oaks!
congratulations to daniel stewart and claire hartley on this great achievement! it couldn't have happened to a nicer group of people!
in all fairness, though, i have to say that there are other studios in town with an equally fantastic crew (and i can think of many), but rising lotus must have a more vocal student body, because they definitely spoke up and supported their favorite yoga center!
speaking of being equally fantastic, the runners up were:
2nd place: mark blanchard's power yoga in brentwood and studio city
3rd place: goda yoga in culver city
4th place: yoga at the village in glendale
5th place: yoga blend in burbank
i've been to all of them, too, and even if they're just small mom-and-pop yoga studios, they treat their students just as well as, if not better than, the larger corporate-run places. and the level of yoga experience that the teachers impart to their students, be they beginners or advanced practitioners, is top-notch, too. and no, i'm not saying that just to earn free classes, although it would be nice :)
by the way, speaking of free classes, mark blanchard's having an open house at both of his studios this weekend -- dec 1st and 2nd -- and there'll be FREE yoga classes on BOTH DAYS! not only that, but donna de lory will be performing in concert at the brentwood location on saturday the 1st at 7:30pm. the performance is NOT free (it'll cost you $20), but it's a small price to pay to listen to someone as talented as her.
before i forget, i'd like add in a special "thanks" to christy marsden and the staff at yoga blend for the nice birthday gift they sent me: a free yoga class redeemable any time in december (my birthday month)! my birthday falls on a saturday this year, so maybe i'll cash it in then!
once again, congratulations to all!
