girl about town

i'm in washington DC for a few days to visit my sister and to check out the local yoga scene -- what a surprise :)

i arrived in town just in time to make it to the last day of DC yoga week, where many of the better-known yoga studios in DC have been offering $5 yoga classes all week long. try to beat that, LA!

i flew in on the red-eye this morning from LAX, and three hours after my plane landed, i was already doing my first down dog of the day. nine hours later, i was rising from my third savasana. yes, my friends, THREE yoga classes in one day... in THREE different yoga studios! all this after a mere two hours of fitful sleep on the plane, thanks to the large man seated beside me who needed more space than his own seat provided :(

needless to say, my mind and body have turned to mush, so i'm headed off to bed.

before i do that, though, i'd like to thank stacie stukin, the resident LA blogger at yogajournal.com's samadhi in the city for including me in her list of notable LA yoga bloggers. here's what she said in her post, Blogging in L.A.:

For the girl about town, yoga socialite POV, visit Joni at Accidental Yogist. She seems to be everywhere at once and is happy to share details about her personal life as well as her yogic discoveries. The blog is also a great resource for calendar listings.

me, a yoga socialite? i suppose that's one way to describe someone who fills her entire social calendar with studio celebrations, kirtans, fundraisers, conferences, and other yoga-related activities... not to mention this latest bout of yoga madness in DC...

i need a life. and definitely some sleep!
