affordable gifts for mom
so how did i finagle that? easy.
buried in the fine print of the latest yogaworks email update was this offer:
Invite a mom to a free class from May 5th – May 11th.
and on their website is that "gift" enclosed in a printable mother's day card.
if you look closely at the card, it says:
notice how it doesn't exclude any of their locations? i'm sure you can figure out the rest of the story...
thanks to christine and karen for "gifting" me with marla wedge's friday night candlelight flow class and allowing me to check out the luxurious inner sanctum -- tea bar, locker room and all! and many more thanks to my daughters, christina and amanda, for bestowing upon me the title that allowed me to take advantage of the offer in the first place :)
by the way, until YWSB changes their NO drop-ins policy, i'll have to give my business to harmony yoga in redondo beach if i want to take any more of marla's great flow classes...
besides the FREE yogaworks class you can give your mother for mother's day (note that it's good at all their studios in los angeles, orange county, and new york; the offer expires on mother's day), there are other FREE classes you can treat your mother to on her special day... in addition to all the other thoughtful gifts you were already going to give her, right?

Symphonic Yoga at the Museum with Brad Keimach
Westwood Art Forum, 1028 Westwood Blvd, Los Angeles
Sunday, May 11th 7:00pm
I have just returned from seeing an exhibit of the work of Shinjo Ito, a Buddhist artist, at the Westwood Art Forum. His work is in statuary, busts, reliefs, calligraphy, and even photography! I must say, after looking into the eyes of all his subjects, I felt a deep sense of peace.
This Sunday, I will be leading a 90-minute Symphonic Yoga (all levels) class at the museum! By that time, the museum will be closed except to those of us practicing yoga. You may come early to view the exhibit, or stay a short while after. It will surely enhance your experience.
Both the exhibit and the Symphonic Yoga class are free!
Come and combine experiences: art, music, yoga, east, west; all in the spirit of yoga: union.
Bring your mats, towels, water, and blocks or straps if you need/want them: there are no props at the museum.
I invite you to add to your life experience with this combination of art, energy, music, and yoga.
