the excitement is building!
i'm starting to get getting nervous... my yogathon at city yoga is THIS weekend!
for those of you who haven't been following along with me, here's what's going on: the wonderful people at city yoga, led by the very special anthony and rebecca benenati, are putting together a 24-hour yogathon from june 30th through july 1st to celebrate their 8th anniversary and to raise funds for habitat for humanity. and yes, i felt compelled to sign up; it sounded like the perfect synergy between my yoga addiction and my marathon mania.
i just received the latest version of the yogathon schedule, and not only does it have more details, but it's way more exciting than the original version!
preliminary schedule:
June 30th
8:00–9:45 Opening chant; standing poses with Rebecca Benenati
10:00–11:45 Arm balances with James MacDonald
12:00–1:15 Backbends & Pranayama with Hillary Rubin & Kate Frankel
1:30 LUNCH
2:00–3:45 Chanting with Govindas
4:00–5:45 Hip openers with Camilla Bergstrom
6:00–7:30 Partner Thai Yoga massage with Michaela Bohem-DeWet
7:30 DINNER
8:15–9:45 Restorative yoga with Sharon Skok
10:00–11:30 Chanting with Wah!
July 1st
12:00–1:30 Inversions with Tony Giuliano
2:00–3:30 Ecstatic Yoga Groove with Tara Judelle
4:00–6:00 Sun salutations with Anthony Benenati
6:15–8:00 Closing Ceremony/Prizes/Check presentation to Habitat
honestly, how can one not get psyched after looking at a schedule like that?!?!?
just think --
yoga practice sessions with the best anusara instructors in town!
kirtan chanting with well-known stars in the kirtan universe!
relaxing partner massage!
and most importantly: meal breaks!
i still have to figure out if i can snooze during the inversions at midnight or while ecstatically grooving at 2am... i might have to settle for catnapping during the restorative session at 8:15pm, although it's way before my usual bedtime...
anyway, it's not too late for you to support me and make a donation to habitat for humanity... if you want to help out, email me your pledge details at [joni AT accidentalyogist DOT com] and i'll add you to my list!
and as always, i'll keep you posted :)
