yoga, meditation, and buddhist art

a little over a week ago, i received an email update from brad keimach about a FREE symphonic yoga class he was scheduled to teach on mother's day at the westwood art forum, which is located in the heart of westwood village. sadly, because of my own mother's day plans, i couldn't make it. brad is also scheduled for a return engagement on sunday, june 8th. but once again, i won't be able to make it because i'll be down in san diego for the rock 'n' roll marathon :( oops, wrong weekend! i'll actually be in boston visiting my daughter :)

i just found out that there are many other FREE yoga classes that will be held at the museum through the end of june. and guided meditation classes, too. they're being offered in conjunction with the ongoing vision and art of shinjo ito exhibition.

happily, i can make many of them! and hopefully, so will you...

reservations are required; click here to reserve your spot in class.

THE VISION AND ART OF SHINJO ITO
Japan's foremost Buddhist Master and Artist of the 20th century

Shinjo Ito (1906-1989), founder of the Shinnyo-en stream of Buddhism, was one of Japan's most versatile Buddhist sculptors and an accomplished artist in fields as diverse as calligraphy and photography. Throughout his life he created countless artworks as a way of giving form to his deeply held faith-in 1957 producing probably his greatest milestone, the Great Parinirvana Image: a 16-foot (480 cm) long statue of Buddha Shakyamuni about to enter nirvana.
